Gaspé Airport was renamed Aéroport Michel-Pouliot in October 2008 in honor of its founder Michel Pouliot, a businessman from the Gaspé who created, in 1951, the first airline in the region. Michel Pouliot is a man who has marked the history of aviation in the Gaspé and elsewhere.

Michel-Pouliot Airport, in order to be able to invest in its capital program aimed at improving user services, collects airport improvement fees (FAA) from passengers. These are reinvested in the capital program, in order to always improve the airport infrastructure and the services offered to travelers.

The City of Gaspé offers the service of supplying petroleum products at its airport located at 60 rue de l'Aeroport in order to refuel devices that use 100LL and Jet A1 gasoline.
In addition, in order to improve quality control and safety during refueling, Michel-Pouliot airport complies with fueling standards. Also, inspections are carried out regularly and are approved by the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) which includes a group of around 130 airlines worldwide.
