SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the mechanical and supply foreman, mainly performs welding and assembly tasks on buildings, vehicles, tools for city operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs welder and assembler tasks on buildings, vehicles, pumping equipment or any other mechanical equipment related to City operations
  • Performs bodywork on City vehicles;
  • Recommends the purchase of the parts necessary for the proper maintenance of the equipment that is an integral part of his work;
  • Performs maintenance, washing and cleaning of various pieces of equipment and buildings where he will have to work.
  • Perform any other related task that may be entrusted to him by his immediate superior;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a professional studies diploma in welding-assembly and / or a skills card in welding-assembly;
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience relevant to the function;
  • Possessing skills cards in the following field will be considered an asset: certificate in halocarbons;
  • Have basic knowledge of vehicle body repair and / or equivalent experience;
  • Be able to write daily reports;
  • Hold, within six months of hiring, the safety course on construction sites;
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and have a Class 3 driver's license would be an asset;
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide a medical certificate of good health and a criminal history form.

WORKPLACE: Territory of the City of Gaspé
WORKING HOURS:   40 hours per week
SALARY : Class 7 for blue collar workers, from $ 24,956 to $ 29.654
