Until January 1, 2022, the registration of cats and dogs in the territory of the City of Gaspé and the 1st medallion will be free.. From January 2022, XNUMX, the costs for licenses will be:

• Spayed cat $ 10
• Unsterilized cat $ 20
• Sterilized dog $ 15
• Unsterilized dog $ 25
• Guide or assistance dog: Free
• Special permit $ 75
• Temporary special permit $ 25
• Animal breeding (kennel, cattery) $ 100
• Dog sledding $ 75
• Pet boarding or daycare $ 75
• The cost of the medallion: $ 10 (free until January 1, 2022)
• Medallion lost or destroyed $ 10

It is forbidden for any person to be within the limits of any of the municipal land or public spaces described below while having the care and control of an animal, whether the animal is kept on a leash. or not :

1. All City land or public spaces where a sign indicates that their presence is prohibited;

2. On the supervised part of Haldimand beach.

This article does not apply to a guide dog or an assistance dog.

For all other public spaces, the dog must be held by means of a leash with a maximum length of 1,85 meters. Dogs weighing 20 kg and over must also wear a halter or harness at all times, attached to their leash.
