The Town of Gaspé wants to inform the population that a regulation regarding the installation of fishing shacks on the Gaspé bay for more than 24h is in force. This regulation is improving the environmental control over this activity. A permit is required when installing fishing shack on the bay. Since fishermen may want to install their fishing shack during the holiday season, they will be able to pick up their permit at the Town Hall as of January 4, even if they have installed their fishing shack before.  For more information, the population is invited to call the land use development, town planning and environment department at (418) 368-2104 extension 8530 during business hours at the Town Hall.

In addition, this year, in order to meet the demand of ice fishermen, bins for recyclable materials and waste will be made available to fishermen. They will be located at the York halt and we are asking fishermen to use them.

The town of Gaspé thank you for your collaboration and wish to remember ice-fishers that security is at their own risk on the ice and to pick up their installation at the end of the fishing season.
