MINOR EXEMPTION FROM URBANISM BY-LAWS

NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council, at an ordinary meeting that will be held on August 15, 2016, at 8 pm, will consider the request for minor exemption from the zoning By-Law 1156-11, presented by Mr Luc Ste-Croix for a property situated at 261, montée de Sandy-Beach.

The nature and consequences of this exemption are the following:

  • the nature of the minor exemption is to reduce of 8.88 m the minimal front yard required at the point 2 of the article 8.8.2.2 of the zoning By-Law 1156-11 to regulize the encroachment of a garage in a front yard without a depth of 20 m.
  • the minor exemption will have for consequence to regularize the localisation of an isolated private garage who encroachment lightly in the front yard with a depth of 11.12m.

During this meeting, the Town Council will hear the interested wishing to be heard on that request.

Due to an upgrading of equipment on the water network, please note that there will be an interruption of this service Monday, July 25th at 9 am, for an indefinite period. The interruption will affect the area of ​​the Hôtel de Ville street, the public housing sector , the Sandy Beach sector including the industrial park of Sandy Beach, du Quai street, du Chantier street, Quigley street, Cotton street,  Forest street and Toundra street until the end of the network.

Public Works will attempt to finish the work as quickly as possible.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given:

1. THAT at a meeting held on June 6, 2016, the Town Council has adopted by-law 1156-11-21 by-law amending By-Law 1156-11 “en agrandissant la zone M-406 à même une partie de la zone M-405, en modifiant le troisième point de l'article 20.5 roulottes de patates frites, restaurants-minute et restaurants sans consommation sur place et ce afin d'inclure la zone M-405 aux zones permettant ces types d'usages et en agrandissant la zone F-177 à même une partie de la zone RT-174 et ce afin de permettre l'agrandissement d'une industrie extractive existante »;

2. THAT by-law 1156-11-21 has been approved by the council of the regional county municipality La Côte-de-Gaspé, on June 8, 2016;

3. THAT an assessment of conformity has been issued by the Secretary-treasurer of the regional county municipality La Côte-de-Gaspé in respect of by-law 1156-11-21 on June 13, 2016;

4. THAT by-law 1156-11-21 came into force on June 13, 2016, according to the Act respecting land use planning and development;

5. THAT the interested can consult this by-law at the Office of the Town clerk, at the Town Hall, 25, rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, Gaspé, during regular office hours.

Following analysis which the results WERE SATISFACTORY, the preventive notice to boil is lifted, today on Monday June 20, 2016 for all the users of the sector of Gaspé.

DRINKING WATER – PREVENTIVE NOTICE TO BOIL - SECTOR GASPÉ

Due to the heavy rain, the Town of Gaspé requires the users of the sector of Gaspé to boil their water at least one minute before drinking and this, until adverse notice.

The public works department of the Town of Gaspé thanks you for your attention.

We remind you that it is a preventive notice and the public works department will notify the population as soon as the situation will get back to normal.  

2016 collection of dangerous domestic residues (DDR) and electronic devices

The town of Gaspé is informing the population that the week-end for the collection of dangerous resideus (DDR) and electronic devices will take place june 11 and june 12 juin from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Luc Germain recreational center. Use this collection to get rid of those products in a way that will benefit our environment. Please take note that only dangerous residues coming from domestic use will be accepted.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council, at its extraordinary meeting held on June 6, 2016, has adopted the following By-Law:

By-law 1305-16 :

« Règlement amendant le règlement 627-96 concernant le brûlage d’herbe, de broussailles et de déchets.»

NOTICE is also given that this By-Law is deposited at the office of the municipality and that the interested may there take cognizance thereof during regular office hours.

1.-    THAT the Town Council has adopted by-law 1155-11-01 by-law amending By-Law 1155-11 en ajoutant l’article 5.3.1.3 Les paysages de Gaspé au chapitre 5 LES ZONES À RÉNOVER, À RESTAURER ET À PROTÉGER, et ce, afin d’inclure la Charte des paysages de la Ville de Gaspé au plan d’urbanisme.

To the qualified voters entitled to have their name entered on the referendum list of the entire municipality:

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the undersigned, Clerk of Ville de Gaspé, that at an ordinary sitting held on May 16, 2016, the Town Council has adopted the following By-Law:

1304-16 : DÉCRÉTANT UNE DÉPENSE D’UNE SOMME DE 2 000 000 $ ET UN EMPRUNT DE 2 000 000 $ PUR LA RÉALISATION DE RAPIÉÇAGE MÉCANISÉ SUR DIVERSES RUES DE LA VILLE DE GASPÉ

THAT the persons qualified to vote on the By-Law on the date of May 16, 2016, and who have therefore the right to demand that this By-Law be submitted to a referendum poll will have access to a register open for that purpose from nine (9) hours to nineteen (19) hours on May 30, 2016, at the office of the undersigned, at the Town Hall in order to enter their name, address and occupation together with their signature.

IS A QUALIFIED VOTER OF THE MUNICIPALITY

A person who, on May 16, 2016, is not disqualified from voting according to article 524 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities and meets the following requirements:

• a natural person domiciled in the municipality and, since at least six months, in Québec and
• is of full age and a Canadian citizen, and not under curatorship.

The non resident sole owner of an immoveable or non resident sole occupant of a business place situated in the municipality who is not disqualified from voting and meets the following requirements:

• is the owner of an immoveable or sole occupant of a business place situated in the municipality since at least 12 months;
• in the case of a natural person, be of full age and Canadian citizen and not under curatorship.

The non resident undivided co-owners and non resident co-occupants of a business place situated in the municipality not disqualified from voting and meet the following requirements:

• is the undivided co-owner of an immoveable or co-occupant of a business place situated in the municipality since at least 12 months;
• is designated by means of a power of attorney signed by a majority of the persons who are co-owners or co-occupants since at least 12 months, as the one who has the right to sing in their name and to be entered on the referendum list of the municipality. This power of attorney must be produced before or at the signature time.

Legal person:

• have designated by resolution among its members, directors or employees, a person who, on May 16, 2016, and at voting time, is of full age and Canadian citizen, is not under curatorship and is not disqualified to vote.

THAT the persons qualified to vote on the By-Law in question must establish their identity to the responsible person for the register, by presenting, among others: a health-insurance card issued by the Québec Health Insurance Board, a driver’s permit issued by the Québec Automobile Insurance Society, a Canadian passport, an identity card of the Canadian armed forces, a certificate of Indian status.

THAT the number of applications needed in order that a referendum poll be held is 500 and failing this number, the concerned By-Law will be deemed approved by the qualified voters.

THAT the qualified voters may examine this By-Law at the office of the undersigned from 8 h 15 am till 12 h and from 1 h till 4 h 30 pm from Monday till Thursday, and from 8 h 15 am till 12 h on Friday, and during registration hours.

THAT the result of this registration procedure will be announced on May 30, 2016, at 7 pm, at the office of the undersigned, 25, rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville in Gaspé.
